God of War Unveils New Atreus Release Coming 2028

God of War's 2018 soft reboot took the PlayStation franchise to new heights by shifting the focus to Norse mythology and introducing new characters, including Kratos' son, Atreus. Now, Atreus will be returning with a stunning new statue from Prime 1 studio that perfectly brings the character to life.

Across both God of War and God of War Ragnarök, Atreus is front and center in the story, with the latter game making him an equal playable protagonist to Kratos. Naturally, this has led to the young trickster god gaining a sizable fan following. While the new Atreus statue is priced at a staggering $1,999, with an even higher price tag for the deluxe edition, it's a perfect rendering of the popular character.

God of War Ragnarök's Atreus Is Coming to Life in a New Statue

A brand-new statue of Atreus from God of War Ragnarök is officially available for pre-order on specfictionshop.com. Designed by Prime 1 Studio, this masterfully crafted piece won't be shipped out until Q1 of 2028, and its cost is high, but it's absolutely worth picking up for any passionate fans of the son of Kratos and Laufey.

"Mother's will carried on. Bond forged with his father," the official description of the "God of War: Ragnarok - Atreus (Deluxe Bonus) 1/3 Scale Statue" on Prime 1 Studio's website begins. "The boy carving his own path forward, realized in 1/3 scale."

"The father-and-son journey through fate reaches its conclusion in "God of War Ragnarok," the epic finale to the Norse saga. From this epic conclusion comes Atreus, joining the Real Elite Masterline series. A young demigod searching for his identity across the vast Nine Realms."

"This 1/3 scale statue captures both his sensitivity and inner strength through the craftsmanship of the Real Elite Masterline series, while expressing not only Atreus himself, but also the legacy of his mother Faye and the bond he has forged with his father, Kratos," the description continues. "His upward gaze and determined stance embody the resolve to step into the future, giving form to the hopes Faye entrusted to him."

"His youthful features retain an unmistakable innocence, enhanced by meticulously sculpted scars. His weathered costume is finished with realistic aging effects, while the soft fur textures and intricate details throughout have been recreated with exceptional precision."

Atreus is presented alongside a bear and wolf, these being the forms he possesses the power to shapeshift into. According to Prime 1 Studio, the placement of the bear is also meant as a metaphor for Kratos, while the wolf represents Atreus himself.

The "God of War: Ragnarok - Atreus (Deluxe Bonus) 1/3 Scale Statue" also comes with two swappable heads with different expressions, a head stand, and multiple swappable arms, each one giving fans the chance to pose him with a variety of different weapons. As an extra for those who purchase the DX Bonus Version of the statue, the mysterious mask sought by Odin is also included.

On Prime 1 Studio's website, the base version of the Atreus statue can be pre-ordered for $1,999 USD, while the Deluxe Bonus version can be pre-ordered for $2,299 USD. Importantly, however, these totals do not factor in tax or shipping. By contrast, the Deluxe Bonus version of the statue can be pre-ordered from specfictionshop.com for $3,099, including shipping to the contiguous United States.
